I love Boiled Peanuts and I love beer!
After moving away from Florida, Boiled Peanuts became a rare nostalgic snack that I could only get by either going back home or boiling them myself. I love trying new Breweries, taprooms, and bottle shops but I tend to get snacky. I've always found that the snack supplied were boring and didn't always go along with a beer.
After moving to Portland I did what every other southerner does and searched to see if there was a vendor nearby who supplied my childhood snack of choice. I found blogs of southerners suggesting places that might sell them but my searches came up empty.
One day a local bottle shop and taproom posted about canned peanuts and I was instantly appalled. Did it come down to me just having to settle for canned peanuts?? I reached out and told them I would make boiled Peanuts for their next event.
I went to the event with little expectation that anyone would know what boiled Peanuts were but to my surprise other customer's were pleasantly surprised to see them. I came back for another event and nearly sold out.
From there I made the decision to start boiling on my own!
As I mentioned, I am a fan of beer so it's only natural that I work with local beer shops, taprooms, and breweries with events spaced out since I am still working a 8-5. The company is geared towards the beer industry and I am happy that it is. Our logo, the way we describe the process of boiling, and out talk track is geared towards that of the industry!
I hope this story inspires you to try my Boiled Peanuts and stop by for a sample and a chat!
